Our Story
A decade of smoke,
stories, and community.
Hookava has been a cornerstone of Downtown Reno's nightlife since 2007 — and we're just getting started.
What began as Reno's first dedicated hookah lounge has evolved through four owners and nearly two decades of growth. In 2014 we moved to Arlington Towers, and in 2019 we expanded into our current home at 1st & Arlington — the largest hookah lounge in all of Northern Nevada. In 2021, the torch was passed to our longest-standing manager, and the vision only sharpened.
We carry five carefully chosen shisha brands — Fumari, Al Fakher, Tangiers, Tea Shisha, and Adalya — each selected to give our guests the widest range of experiences, from nicotine-free tea leaf sessions to the world's most recognized traditional blends.

Founded
Hookava first opened its doors in Downtown Reno, establishing itself as the city's premier hookah destination from day one.
Arlington Towers
Under new ownership, Hookava moved to Arlington Towers — a new chapter with a refined space and growing reputation.
Expanded
We grew into our current home at 1st & Arlington, becoming the largest hookah lounge in all of Northern Nevada.
New Chapter
A University of Nevada, Reno alumnus and Hookava's longest-standing manager took ownership — carrying forward the culture and elevating the experience with deep roots in the Reno community.

Hookava is the official starting point for the Downtown Reno Wine Walk — held every 3rd Saturday of the month. For $30 per person, you choose your own hand-painted glass (each one a unique work of art) and explore Downtown Reno with wine in hand.

Every Wednesday night Hookava hosts DJ Trivia — a high-energy mix of music, competition, and great drinks. Bring your crew, form a team, and compete for real prizes.

Know Before You Go
Lounge Rules
By ordering you accept all the Lounge Rules — even if you choose not to read them. We keep these in place so everyone has a great time.
Parties of 5+ (4 people per hookah) will need to get either another hookah, or drinks equal in value to a hookah.
If ANYONE in the group gets sick, EVERYONE will be cashed out with a $200+ cleaning fee and your night with us will come to an end.
If you need ANY assistance, press the buzzer ONLY 1x.
DO NOT move the hookah on your own. NO dancing, laying, or sleeping around the hookah.
You will be asked to leave if: the hookah gets knocked over (all damages paid by you), foul or inappropriate actions toward other customers or employees, or illegal substances are used or sold on premises.
Table hopping or "mooching" off other customers is not permitted. NO outside alcoholic beverages allowed.
No smoking with an open flame inside the business.
If you order a cocktail and decide not to drink it, you will be paying for the drink.
Any group of 5+ or remaining for longer than 2 hours will have an 18% automatic gratuity added to all bills.
